Activities to support social inclusion for new and emerging communities, including: - Language training and familiarisation with Australian culture and lifestyle to enhance cultural competence - Introduction to local sports and outdoor adventures for CALD youth - Women-specific time/activities in local sports facilities such as aquatic centre - Social sittings/friendship groups for men and women - Engagement via social media, especially for youth

There is an increasing migrant and refugee population in Gippsland region experiencing isolation and not being able to connect with the broader community. The proposed project activities will help them to break multiple barriers they face in getting out and about in the community and familiarisation of the local services and systems. For example, women-only swimming group will improve water safety education among the CALD families; social groups for men will help them to voice their concerns without compromising on male 'ego'; and the youth activities will engage the young individuals to learn about Australian norms.
