Community Basketball Court

Build a new outdoor basketball court in the Bourke St Park Warragul. This will be for all of the community to use at any time and will help establish a healthier community which meets the Baw Baw Shire public health and wellbeing plan for 2017-2021. As many chronic disease and injuries are preventable, a community basketball court would support the plan to focus on supporting healthy living from the early years and throughout life.

There has been ongoing issues with youth causing trouble in the Warragul CBD and this is due to youth not having a place they can hang out. Establishing a new basketball court close to the secondary school will provide a place where the youth in the community can meet and engage with each other. It will provide a place for people of all ages in the community to meet, socialise and play. The basketball court will encourage the community to conduct in physical activity which will lead to a healthy happy community.
