We will open the doors of Melbourne's oldest Synagogue to the general public and the diverse faith communities in Melbourne. Our program of community cultural events aims to foster a vibrant and harmonious community spirit. The Synagogue will seek to create partnerships with other communal organisations and religious, cultural and artistic institutions and to work with these entities in order to plan, organise and present a wide range of cultural events including musical performances, lectures, debates, literary events, plays, and film screenings. We anticipate holding 8-10 events annually.

This program will promote harmony, community cohesion and social interaction. The program will bring together different faith communities, as well as members of the broader community of Melbourne, to share in inspiring performances and interesting, informative and engaging presentations. It will contribute to community harmony by utilizing one of Melbourne's most historic and evocative inner city spaces that is also readily accessible. The program of events will be open to all and will be designed to allow many diverse groups to meet and interact while sharing in performances and presentations from some of Australia's most talented artists, academics and performers

The East Melbourne Synagogue is definitely an icon of our city of Melbourne. Many years ago,I use to visit the Schule.
I can still remember Danny Segal, whose family have been and are still members of East Melbourne Schule, and it's good thing that now,Danny is the president of the board of management. And hopefully, under guidance of Rabbi Duvid Gutnick and Danny, the Schule will be the place for Jewish People living in the inner suburbs surrounding the city of Melbourne.
