The project is in two stages - firstly the resurfacing of the two school mod grass activity courts, and secondly the installation of four large fixed shade sails to partially cover the courts for inclement weather. New tennis poles and nets along with ball safety nets will also be installed. The wider community will be able to use the courts on a more frequent basis for free basketball, netball and tennis on the weekends, after hours and school holidays. During the week the school will be able to run PE programs in inclement weather, which it currently cannot.

This project will enable the whole community who use the activity courts at Armadale primary school more often and in inclement weather. Currently the courts are uncovered, and do not allow the ability to play tennis or have a running track ability.
The activity courts are the only ones around the local area that are open all weekend and available for use by local residents and children.
The construction of some 600 residences in nearby Orrong road has put pressure on the community facilities and therefore this upgrade of facilities will enhance the community as a whole.

This would be such a greaf addition to Armadale Primary School. There is such limited space for the children and the community to play Currently.

Armadale Primary School is a great school in Armadale community, but there are not enough place for kids to play.I think this initiative is deeply needed.

A fantastic initiative; for the school children and the local community all of whom enjoy using the school grounds in and out of school hours and have limited space to play.

A worthy upgrade for a great school. Very impressed with the school, I am a local resident, living opposite the school

With a direct link between physical & cognitive fitness, we as a community should be doing everything we can to get kids outside and active wherever possible. It would also aid with the fight against childhood obesity.
This project represents a fantastic opportunity to provide kids with multi-faceted opportunity to be active, at such a critical stage of their development.
The grounds of this school represent quite a small footprint, so to ensure as much of this space represents year-round viability for the community it is imperative there is cover on at least some of the outdoor area.
For the kids and surrounding community, I really hope this project is approved and completed.

Vital improvement to the small school's only non-bitumen play area, with additional bonus that the community can use it after 6pm and on weekends. Important to enable play during rain as well as to provide UV protection in hotter months.

We need to make good use of our limited play areas.

A great addition to keeping the local community healthy and active.

With such projects (I think community use of school facilities is a Good Thing), it would be good if schools had signs explicitly inviting the community to use the facilities on weekends and (with a gap) before/after school times.

Such a long overdue project not only for the school but for the local area

There are no full courts (basketball or netball) available for children to freely use on the weekend. The surrounding area is dominated by ovals, so this would provide a great space for the community to use on the weekends for court sports. With the school not having an indoor sports hall, increasing the conditions in which the courts can be used is critical to ensure that the students have enough opportunities to exercise.

This is important not just for the school but for local residents to use

After a school tour I realised how lovely the school is however their is limited outdoor space therefore it needs to be practical all year round.

This is a much needed and overdue upgrade for the school, it’s students and the local community.

We need this given this is the only play area for the entire school
