The Collingwood All Stars Junior Coaching Academy will allow over 40 junior basketball players to reach their full potential as coaches and future community leaders.

Skills learnt will go beyond basketball, instilling vital life skills - how to motivate, lead, listen, encourage and communicate.

We will combine:
- six by 3-hour face-to-face coaching workshops to help our junior coaches understand themselves and how to best develop others.
- Mentoring by an experienced coach.
- A new online portal with skills, techniques, drills and workshops.

Two surveys of coaches and players will provide research to enable culture, behaviour and attitude change.

Collingwood Basketball Association sits on the doorstep of Melbourne’s inner northern housing estates.

The Collingwood All Stars Junior Coaching Academy ('the Academy') will create a dynamic platform that redefines the way our junior coaches understand and fulfil their role on and off the court.

Through basketball, we have built a supportive, caring and inclusive inner-city community that allows kids – regardless of background, means or ability – to grow as sportspeople and good citizens.

The Academy will take this important work to a new and exciting level – a systematic program that builds our community’s next generation of leaders.
