Collingwood All Stars Dance Academy

Collingwood Basketball Association (the ‘Collingwood All Stars’) sits on the doorstep of Melbourne’s inner northern housing estates. Through basketball, we have a built supportive, caring and inclusive inner-city community. This allows kids of all backgrounds, means and ability to grow as sportspeople. They can reach their full potential as valued members of our community. The Collingwood All Stars Dance Academy will be an important addition to this vital work. It allows local kids who may not want to play basketball but love to dance – to have fun in a safe environment, develop and feel valued.

The Collingwood All Stars have three teams competing in Victoria’s elite Big V basketball competition, with up to 500 supporters attending home games.

Many local kids want to be involved in the Big V competition, but not all can play basketball at an elite level.

The Collingwood All Stars Dance Academy fills this gap.

Local kids will learn hip-hop in a structured environment and then showcase their hard work and dancing talents to large crowds during our Big V games.

This will keep more kids positively engaged with their local community and the dancers will become role models for others.
