Moon Rabbit café is a flagship café for sustainability. No takeaway coffee cups and minimal single-use plastic. Composting, worm farms and Bokashi bins; we ensure that ALL food waste is recycled. To grow and share Moon Rabbit’s sustainability measures this project would develop a sustainable vegetable garden. Providing produce for the cafe and a resource for hands on training in Bridge Community Sustainability Workshops and Business Consultations. These workshops and consultations are open to Darebin community members to raise awareness, share best practice in sustainability and waste minimisation. Supported by practical information to assist implementing these practices into daily life.

Initially more than 150 members of the local community will increase their knowledge and practical applications of sustainability in their homes and workplaces via a range of programs that focus on hands-on learning and sharing of knowledge around all aspects of sustainability. With training programs, in house workshops, community workshops and business consultations, we aim to dispel some common myths about sustainability. Community wants to be more sustainable but are confused about how to do it. The flow on effect of this shared information and training will impact more than 500 community members within the first year of operation.
