Clunes Showgrounds Sheep Pavilion Improvements

The Pavilion is currently open to the elements and has an earthen floor. It is used both on show day, and by a range of community groups seeking a large function space. Presently when used for functions, it is enclosed using tarpaulins.
This project would enclose the walls using sliding and roller doors and concrete the floor, enhancing functionality on show day. Moreover for the rest of the year the local community will have access to a large, enclosed community space perfect for a range of functions and seating up to 350 people for meals.

This Pavilion, along with other showground facilities, is already used by various community groups, including the local campus of Wesley College, Clunes Booktown, Clunes Truck Show and other community groups.
In addition, the Showgrounds is a designated assembly area in case of an emergency in the community, such as a fire. The improved facility would therefore be of value to organisations such as the CFA and other emergency agencies in such circumstances.
Enclosing and improving the amenity of the Pavilion will provide the community with access to a large venue, suited to a wide range of functions, events and situations.
