Clunes Dog Park is currently a sparse unfenced corner lot overlooking the town. My idea is to transform this so that dogs and their humans can run and play safe from traffic, and with access to basic facilities including water, shade and seating. But I want to do it with a twist. The land allocated to the dog park is adjacent to a major gold landmark. Let's add another layer to our town's gold story by reforesting the space allocated to the dog park, using a fence that incorporates trees sculpted from reclaimed wire sourced from local farms.
In Clunes, we know that dogs really are our best friends. They keep us from being lonely, make us smile and remind us we need to get out and exercise. Despite being surrounded by open countryside, Clunes needs a safe place in town where our dogs can run, off leash without fear of traffic or other hazards. Council has given us this space, but it's unusable the way it is. Let's work together to create a masterplan for our dog park. Together we could build it including a sculpted fence, so that it is not only functional, but also beautiful.

A great idea, especially as it is currently unusable without fencing. Clunes is going through a huge growth, which means more dogs and more friends!
This is something well needed and would be great for the town
Dogs and their masters deserve to have an off-leish park for their mutual health and social enjoyment.
It would be so great to have this as a functional space for Clunes!

I love the idea of having a dog park with trees and tree sculptures as this will help those who visit stay to socialise and create a space for not just dog lovers but art appreciating and outdoors loving people too. We need more green spaces for all.
