Climate Change Reach Out

Let’s get the word out to non-environmentally minded people in communities who don’t usually engage in the climate change conversation.
We will share information about the current climate emergency and local practical strategies through fun, engaging and informative workshops in culturally diverse community groups and events in West Heidelberg. We want all communities to engage with environmental issues, understand and be part of the solution that can then spread further afield. At each workshop participants will participate in an interactive art sculpture (audio recycled art produced with a community artist) which teaches about these issues through educational inscriptions.

In West Heidelberg there are many diverse small communities that currently don’t interact with the larger community conversation about climate change and environment. We will train local 'champions' from diverse groups who can continue to champion the cause in their communities. Workshops will aim for big picture understanding which translates into local strategies for their homes and communities. A plain English booklet will accompany workshops and a lasting artwork with environmental messages on display.
