The Lindenow Sports Ground Committee of Management is applying for this funding to establish a children's playground at the sports ground. The sports ground has many user groups including the Lidenow Football Netball Club, Lindenow Cricket Club, Lindenow Bowls Club all of which have strong children participation levels. In addition the COM has recently upgraded the netball facilities, which has led to an increase in female participation. Many of these participants have children that would benefit from a playground near the facility. It will increase physical activity for both children and parents in the one location.
Lindenow is a small rural town that is growing rapidly. The sports ground is used by many user groups such as the Lidenow Football Netball Club, Lindenow Cricket Club, Lindenow Bowls Club. All of these groups are family orientated with families at the sports ground most days. The playground would be fenced but not locked, so that it can be used by all families in the community everyday. The kinder and school could use the playground as well as local playgroups. It will increase physical activity for both children and parents in the one location.

I’m a father of four and know personally how much a facility like this would be utilised at a local sporting hub like ours. Sports clubs are the heart and soul of any regional, rural community and the addition of a children’s playground makes for tremendous family inclusion at our sports ground complex.

Much needed initiative, with a growing family base in area, there needs to be continuel focus on encouraging youth to enjoy outdoors and interacting within the community. Fantastic project and much needed for the area.

A safe and well planned play area is a must. Children need to be involved in the project, ask them what they would like to have in the area. I am sure they will have some fantastic ideas.

As a netballer and Mum in this community, I agree that it is a fantastic idea. Would add safety to the club so kids don't have to leave the sports ground and would be used by many.

Yes! All the different user groups of the grounds would benefit greatly from having somewhere for children to play safely. A much needed project! 👍🏼

Been spoken about for a long time.... never any action. A safe area for children is must. It would add inclusiveness to so many sports / user groups to the area. Hands down winner

Excellent idea, with a large (and growing) number of children in the area it would be a great addition for the many user groups at the rec reserve, especially being an area designed specifically for children where they can play safely
