Child Protection Policy Campaign

Tzedek’s unique service has three components: 1. Experienced consultants will support organisations write a new policy or review their current child protection policies and procedures in line with the Victorian Child Safe Standards and Royal Commission Policy Standards. 2. Develop culturally specific education programs to facilitate the implementation of the policy. 3. Provide support with referrals for legal options to ensure the organisation is compliant with current legislation, insurance requirements and best practice.

In the aftermath of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, it is now incumbent on organisations to develop child protection policies to promote a child safe culture. The development of a child protection policy should be more than a superficial document to meet compliance requirements but does little to promote a child safe culture. This service offers a long term partnership with Jewish organisations to develop actions to promote sustainable policies. The service includes the delivery of culturally specific education programs and a regular review of policies informed by child safety issues and research findings.
