We aim to:
-Hold a Mental Health Public Community Event to increase awareness of mental health.
-Develop and Deliver an Education Model to share learning's with service providers on the outcomes of 10 years of Art in Mental Health at Monash Health including improving social inclusion, family relationships, reducing power differentials and stigma.
-Create a free high quality coffee table book of Monash Health’s 10 years of acquired Art in Mental Health (About 75 pieces including lived experience recovery stories) reducing stigma and increasing social inclusion creating better access and share with schools, service providers, GP Clinics and community services.
Our southern metropolitan region community will have greater access to mental health services so that everyone gets the right service at the right time and in the right place.
Mental Health is a barrier to participation in community involvement however participation in art and cultural projects can link people back to their community providing pathways to self-expression, recreation, training and employment. Art and Mental Health Projects can be an effective way to engage, educate and promote a positive health message.
Create better trained mental health staff and build awareness in our community services, GPs, schools, and broader community members.
