The aim of our project is to improve the liveability in the community by replacing the existing facility at the Recreation Reserve and Campground which is in extremely poor condition, with a new facility which will have disabled and ambulant access, as well as showers and toilets to better cater for our current and future needs. We would like to be able to provide facilities that cater for people with all levels of disabilities to be able to fulfil their sporting and recreational requirements and encourage participation in community events.

Presently, the Reserve caters for tennis, archery, football, netball, auskick and is a staging area for CFA bushfires. It also incorporates a campground which provides affordable camping facilities for tourists.
The current facility only has two female and two male toilets, and has inadequately catered for the volume of use and needs of all the user groups.
The facility is in use for the entire 12 months of the year, and due to the fact there are no disabled or ambulant access, it has lessened the participation of all sectors and members of the community and visitors to our town.

This facility would serve a number of purposes. It would have the effect of increasing the number of visitors to our town
as well as to provide up to date toilets and showers for all of the many users of the Cavendish Recreation Reserve, including the Football, Netball,Clubs, and the patrons at their Matches. The current Facilities are outdated and inadequate by the standards of today.

A new toilet and shower facility at the Cavendish Rec Reserve would serve locals, travelers and visitors.

A new toilet and shower facility at the Cavendish Rec Reserve would be such a welcome bonus for the townsfolk and visitors alike. It would be the boost the little township needs.

We are business owners and have lived in the Cavendish area for nearly 9 years. Cavendish is a wonderful and caring community who are committed to improving and enhancing this beautiful towns environs. As a central hub for community activity, the Recreation Reserve and Camping Grounds facilities are vital to us. Cavendish also has a very strong visitor base, being at the core to travellers wanting to visit the Grampians or as a stop-over on their way north via the Henty Hwy. This project is just what our little community needs. Very good things come in good packages and Cavendish is definitly very good!

Cavendish is one of the strongest communities I have ever had the the pleasure of being part of. Have never lived there, but worked there for 16 yrs. This community deserves everything it can get so it can continue to thrive and support not only the local community but also the wider community and then all those that happen to fi fed themselves in this wonderful little town

Cavendish is a small, picturesque town with a strong, proud, spirited and hard-working community at its core. But there is only so much a small group of people can do (no matter how passionate they are about their town) before assistance is required. These facilities urgently need to be upgraded, and a whole lot of funding assistance is required to do so. Cavendish has so much to offer, and it would be an absolute shame to see locals travelling to neighbouring towns to play sport or our gorgeous campground bypassed by visitors simply because the basic facilities (toilets and showers) are inadequate.

The facilities at the Rec Ground are used by most of the community during the year and have badly needed upgrading for a long time, lets hope this is recognised at higher levels and the grant is obtained.

I know that we are a backwater, geographically, but why should we be one, physically? Cavendish is beautiful, with caring residents and great facilities, in the main.

This, unfortunately, is where we fall down, seriously. The toilets are for the use of so many different types of users, and their needs, be it the crowds that we get here for sports, the tourists who stay at the camping spot, the in-crowd who attend special festivals, those just passing through and want to see another beautiful by-the-River spot, for a picnic lunch...

And then, there are the toilets, as they are now. Please visit and see for yourself how we really need to get into the twenty-first century, and help those who need to make the bladder gladder or take a weight off their minds! lol

Thankyou for allowing me to express my opinion.

Camping venue is gorgeous but current facilities are woefully inadequate

Small Communities such as Cavendish need to have good facilities to encourage visitors for sport and camping.
Mostly the improvements in Cavendish are made with donations of time and money from the locals, let's see some help here with a grant to a deserving community project.

As the current President of the CFNC I feel that state of the current toilet facilities at Rec Reserve are both inadequate and badly outdated. There is no disabled cubicles and it must be hard for some members of the community to then attend football and netball games. A new facility would not only benefit our club but the whole Cavendish community.

These amenities are in desperate need of an upgrade and would be such an important asset to our very busy Rec Reserve

Definitely needs an upgrade, great spot every time we go there.

As a regular user of this facility over 50 years, I have seen the number of people using this facility grow immensely.
However the facilities have not altered in that time and are grossly inadequate for the volume of people using them. Also as a parent of a child in an electric wheelchair I find it very frustrating that there is no disabled toilet facilities at the Cavendish Recreation Reserve, therefore often excluding our daughter from local community activities.

Great venue for archery and other sports - camping facilities (toilet / shower) are in need of a major overhaul, but this will provide for higher usage and bring many more visitors into the region. It's a win-win for the visitors and the local community.

Such a great shared use facility. We’ve had some great camping there too. Couldn’t think of a more deserving place for some funding

I have spent a lot of years playing sport at Cavendish over many years. We desperately need a toilet/shower block that is not cold, dark and way too small. This area services an array of users and it needs to be far more practical. The locals and users try their very best with what they have, but a new facility would benefit many people.

I use the reserve campground two to three times per year. It would be an asset to the local community.

Would make camping much more useable and enjoyable especially when there’s an archery event on
