The Moyhu Soldiers Memorial Hall is an iconic building, opened in 1930, and is well loved by its users and the broader community. The main hall has a reputation for having great acoustic qualities. It is regarded as the best place to host performances in the greater Wangaratta/King Valley area outside the City of Wangaratta. Unfortunately the hall is in need of significant repairs including replacing the original corrugated iron roof, as well as replacing the underfloor timbers and stumps. it is also in need of renovations and a lighting upgrade to the stage and dressing rooms area.
The hall has traditionally been used by local groups and organisations for social functions and community meetings and Wangaratta City Council for large community meetings. The hall has hosted live performances annually for several years, which are organised by King Valley Presents (an offshoot of the King Valley Art Show), and have been well supported by the district community. It is anticipated that the renovations will help attract more visiting artists, shows and social functions to the venue for the enjoyment of the Moyhu and district community and ensure the facilities long term viability and preservation for future generations.

This hall has been and is a very important centre for keeping the community connected. Renovations and upgrades are urgently needed so more functions can be held there and the history of the building preserved. There is a real need for such a facility in a rural town to enable a wider range of cultural performances and sharing of the multicultural interests in the area.
