Castlemaine Community Sound creates a platform for young artists to collaborate and create work for themselves and their community to enjoy. Using emerging videographers and sound-recordists, CCS also creates a series of live studio productions, showcasing young local acts.

Inviting young, underexposed, local artists to perform a live show in front of an audience to be recorded and produced into a series of 10 podcasts for radio and social media use. Leanganook Live Arts Hub (community rehearsal and performance space) will be the heart of this project.

Finally, a gala launch, screening final cuts and more live performances.

Providing an opportunity for young artists to gain experience, be inspired, and begin networking with fellow creatives. The broader community will be invited to audience the free productions, providing a great atmosphere for the recordings as well as showcasing to the public the emerging talent in this region. The exposure gained from the live sets will be invaluable to the young performers, as well as being a confidence and skill building experience. This project will value the work of all involved and contribute to the rich tapestry of rural and regional arts.
