Community gardens can bring people of all ages and cultural backgrounds together through a shared love of gardening and food. Project funding would help build community gardens at Community Centres across Casey, and help deliver food and nutrition programs to local people. Local community centres in Casey are the ideal locations to bring people together and sow the seeds of friendship and understanding. The centres will run social and education programs around gardening, cooking, health and nutrition, and other activities that will benefit the local community. Working together in a community garden can create friendships and understanding.

Your Community Centre in Casey; Brentwood, Oakgrove, Endeavour Hills, Berwick!
Gardening, growing vegetables and cooking is a great way to meet people and share common interests. It is a great way to get involved in your local community centre and discover other activities and programs that are available.

Community members can have access to fresh food and healthy nutrition information as well as learning about career pathways and jobs in the food and horticulture industries.

Community members can learn how to grow their own food at home and can practice a wide range of language, gardening and cooking skills.

With a lot more people living in units and not having outside area to grow veg. or flowers, this project is very worthwhile. Also to get single people to a group setting to assist with avoiding loneliness.
