Carraragarmungee Outdoor Community Recreation Hub

Carraragarmungee Primary School is located in an isolated rural setting surrounded by farmland and small farming districts. There are no infrastructure or recreation facilities close by. Our playground is over 20 years old, in need of upgrading and modernizing for compliance and current community fitness needs. Barbeque facilities and simple landscaping would give the wider community greater access to our facilities after school hours, weekend and vacation use as a recreational and fitness facility. We have developed an outdoor entertaining and learning area which is being increasingly used by local families and community groups in our rural area.

We are increasingly noticing many families, small community groups and passing visitors stopping off to utilize our outdoor facilities of small oval, playground, large sealed covered areas and ampitheatre for recreation and play. We run vacation care which attracts children from outside our immediate area seeking our rural outlook and ambience. Upgrading our play facilities to cater to multiage recreational play and creating a family barbeque area benefits members of our extended community, including the local Remote Control Car Club which utilizes our grounds on a regular basis, our 3 & 4 year old playgroup, vacation and after hours care.
