To create 3 days a week playgroup in the community spaces. It will allow children to play outside with other children while parents socialise. Newly arrived immigrants will also get help and support by their peers and others to learn about what other services are available, such as jobs, training. education and schooling for their children. Some of the older community members can get involved in ways which is beneficial for all, by working with Melbourne City FC (Soccer team ) which comes weekly to the Estate.

With the limited space which residents live in, parents with young children hardly go out of their apartment to interact with other residents and friends.
This playgroup will address a number of issues faced by the residents and will help solve other issues they might have. Such as how to rise children in Australia and how to deal with the school system. It would be a much easier way for other service providers to come and approach.
Allowing issues to be dealt by government agencies who seek to informing them more directly.

Carlton Residents Umbrella

21 Aug 2018

residents of Carlton at various levels and across the board unanimously wish to project their anger and frustration in relation to the neglect and utter abandonment of the government in our affairs despite making numerous complaints touching on the general lawlessness and deteriorating security situation currently prevalent in the high rises, an affliction that remains a scar on the overall management of the area.

its fair to note that there are many disputes in the high rises - and a clean up from high top is needed. to audit and review the serious complaints that to this day remain unresolved.

there were many incidents serious in nature that took place here, particularly the most recent one about two and half weeks ago whereby children were used by adults apparently claiming to be working for "CHERS", this was very serious and has attracted the eyes of police and other child protection authorities with many parents upset and very angry about the snatching of their children only to involve them for attack related activities against tenants and residents living in the area.

CHERS cannot "serve our needs" while at the same time allowing its premise to used and exploited for other activities.
