Cann Valley Nature Trails

Cann Valley is a small community in Far East Gippsland and is located on the junction of the Princes Highway and Monaro Highway, being the gateway to the popular coastal wilderness of Croajingolong National Park. Currently, the Valley has two beautiful nature trails that are not being used to their full advantage due to the state of the 2.3 kilometre and 5.3 kilometre tracks respectively. It is envisaged that both tracks become ‘all abilities accessible trails’ by widening, levelling and regravelling pathways, installing culverts and a viewing platform for wheelchairs, and erecting seats and signage for a sense of place.

The Cann Valley Nature Trails will provide many community benefits for the area (both locally and regionally) by:
• Encouraging community members and visitors to increase their physical activity and participation along the trails;
• Connecting people to nature and to the beauty of the Valley, the Indigenous environment and the local flora and fauna;
• Providing alternate recreational activities for all;
• Supporting the local economy through people spending time and money within the Valley especially with the recent upgrade to the town’s streetscape; and
• Connecting visitors to the Caravan Park, the Valley and National Parks.
