This project will work with young people, many of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds, to inspire the skills, confidence, and networks needed to succeed in business. The project will provide high-quality business mentoring to young people to help them start or maintain a small business or social enterprise.

This will be accomplished through a mentor database, website, workshops and collaborative events. The project will work with existing programs such the Young Entrepreneurs in the North (who work with Sudanese refugees and youths in local council estates) as well as other youth programs, to enhance self-employment outcomes for young people.

1-in-3 young people in our local community are unemployed or underemployed. However they are faced with significant disadvantages when starting their own businesses. Mentoring has been proven to have a significant impact on business success.

This project will enhance the self-employment outcomes for young people in the community who are starting their own business. It ensures that young people who start their own business can access the skills, guidance, and networks they need to run, manage and build a successful business. This project also enhances the business leadership skills of mentors in working with and communicating with diverse young people.

Encourage young entrepreneurs to gain and share their knowledge and experience with the mentors to build up their potential and confident to involve into our multicultural society in focus on "Unconscious Bias" .

Great opportunity for young entrepreneurs to gain valuable insights. The 2018 YEN Program was great for the young people and even better for the volunteer mentors like me, we gained a lot of satisfaction from the program.
This new project will allow the full potential of the mentoring program to be achieved. It is such a good program it deserves more support.

The 2018 YEN Young Entrepreneurs program was a great experience for me as a mentor, especially attending the Pitch Night and Graduation night last night. Such an impressive diverse group of inspired young people from the North. We need to ensure this is not just a one-off program, and we have the critical infrastructure proposed through this project to provide sustaining support to young entrepreneurs on their work journey.

Absolutely LOVE this project. The young entrepreneurs in the YEN program in Morelands and Yarra are so inspiring. Have recieved so much back as a Mentor. This work is socially so important - glad I can get behind this campaign to support it.
