The Bushfield and surrounding communities have a hall that is in major need of attention. Historically, this hall was a hub for the community but due to its run down nature and small size, is currently not being fully utilised. The school, football club, cricket club, community groups and local families would all make greater use of an upgraded facility for meetings, social events and community building activities. Currently such events are either not held or are conducted in Warrnambool which limits local involvement. This means residents aren't engaging fully in the social fabric of the community.
• Local primary schools holding sports days and end of year functions.
• CFA general meeting and training days.
• Cost effective weddings, engagements and birthdays for local families.
• Female footy team.
• Community fundraisers.
• Woodford racing club meetings.
The benefit from our proposed project is community wide, it will reinvigorate the groups and their members to support the use of the hall and facilities.
It will encourage the community to see the changes to their previously run down hall and spark new found pride and inclusion in what the future holds for the area.
