Once an active station for the Buangor and district community the building has sadly fallen into disrepair since its closure in the 1990's.
This project will restore and preserve a piece of local history and provide a space for groups to meet. The space will be available for community activities and a location to display local historic memorabilia.
The building is currently unsecured, with broken windows, failed flooring, rotted external cladding and a rusty leaking roof.
The building will be fully secured and restored internally and externally including a new roof, windows, doors, amenities and completely painted inside and out.

Through a survey to the community it was identified that the restoration of the Railway Station building was extremely important in preserving the history of Buangor.
Buangor is a small community with few places of historic significance left and restoring the station would compliment the Historic Cobb & Co in town as an additional place for visitors to learn of Buangors history.
The Buangor Railway Station served the community for a long period of time and it seems respectful to maintain this piece of history for future generations to use as a meeting space as many have done before us.

Its a lovely piece of Victorian Railway history. It would be wonderful to have it restored and looked after.

This station building is the only remaining building along this rail corridor situated between Ararat and Beaufort, the 2 other locations which had railway stations, Dobie and Middle Creek had their buildings demolished many years ago, the difference with this location is that there is a reasonable sized community to support the proposed use of this building and at the same time preserving this important piece of railway history.
