We are looking to install cooling units in the upstairs two-court area of the facility. The court temperature in this part of the facility often exceeds 35 degrees in the summer months.

Due to being a sporting facility we are often forced to cancel competitions, training or programs for community members as the extreme heat is a health risk for players and spectators.

Please think about this seriously!!
My children woll not be able to continue playing basketball here if there is not a change to this hazardous sauna that is called a stadium..... It is a serious health issue in the summer for anyone person that enters, not to mention the players, and referees who are being physical and pushing there bodies to fullest potential on the best of days let alone in summer, but also the staff. The stadium has soaring dangerous tempretures with no ventilation and I pray that you fix the problem to prevent health issues (hospitalization) and to help the kids continue staying healthy and being active instead of choosing to stay home where it is cool and turn to technology choosing not to be active which could also increase the chances of obesity

We need this aircon badly! The kids are encouraged to be active, but their safety is an issue during the scorching summer months! The association is growing and needs to meet the demands of the users.

Watching games in summer at different tournament's and I had to leave airconditioned venue as i was still sweltering, then relised after going out into the 40 degree direct heat that I was better off inside where there was circulation of air. I can not go and watch my son play his home games in summer which is very sad and depressing because I will SEIZURE as there is no air flow through the place at all no to mention up stairs it is a serious health hazard to all especially players and umpires who are pushing their bodies to the extreme on these ridiculously hot days and with the environment, climate, and the way our world is working our summers are only going to be getting hotter and hotter, worse than we can imagine.... Think about it we get told to bring our animals into a nice cool ventilated area out of the heat and this stadium gets hotter inside than it is outside. Is this Humane?😠

In the summer the stadium is extremely hot and unbearable just to sit in as a spectator which makes it enormously worse for all the children who play here especially all the asthma suffers this is extremely dangerous. We encourage our children to play sport to stay fit and healthy. Broadmeadows basketball stadium really needs this cooling for our community to stay healthy, fit and active.

This is a serious problem
which needs to be fixed immediately. Players’ health are at risk when playing in extreme heat conditions. Summer basketball becomes unbareble and HUME basketball courts are one of the only courts left which don’t have adequate cooling systems..
Wonder upstairs one hot afternoon and feel for yourself the hot ‘greenhouse’ conditions the players play in and the spectators swelter through, and it wouldn’t even be a question of priorities., the question would be
why wasn’t this completed any sooner’.

Unbearable for both players and spectators -uf we are encouraging young people to take part in sport we need to provide facilities that are useable!

It is dangerously hot in summer as a spectator, let alone a player. Our community really need this.
