Over the past four years, my local community has invested $397,776 worth of time in fencing, weed control, felling and milling timber locally to restore five historic trestle bridges and establish low level crossings around another six water crossings. Reward our local community for their significant efforts with the funds they need to fix a collapsed section of the last trestle bridge and gravel this stunning section of rail trail. I want the 85km Shelley to Tallangatta to Wodonga rail trail opened and accessible to all on foot, bicycle and horse.

Since the High Country Rail Trail opened between Tallangatta and Wodonga, there have been more locals walking, cycling and horse riding. With higher levels of obesity and physical inactivity compared to our city counterparts, a relative flat and easy profile rail trail has helped to get less active members of our small community healthier. Residents of our local retirement village scooter along the rail trail together, providing both a social outing and the many health and wellbeing benefits of connecting with nature.

We need to diversify our local economy. Hospitality businesses will benefit from an amazing Shelley to

As a new resident of the area and a keen bike rider it would be great to see this section of the rail trail completed.

Having ridden the entire Rail Trail, from Wodonga and Past Shelley, it would be awesome to see it joined with the bridges.
