The Bendigo Youth Choir is working in partnership with the Central Australian Aboriginal Women's Choir with a view to provide a cultural cross-generational exchange. Our aim is to build relationships and enhance understanding between both cultures through the medium of music. Groups will contribute to workshops and rehearsals culminating in combined performances. Two performances will be put on, one free of charge for schools with courtesy buses provided and one for the general public. Discussions with the Bendigo and District Aboriginal Co-operative have been very supportive of the project and expressed a willingness to work with Bendigo Youth Choir.
The purpose of sponsoring an existing indigenous choir to Bendigo is to increase the general community's understanding of indigenous culture through a musical experience; we will also enhance our connections with our local indigenous community through their participation in this project. We will be working with school students and the public to celebrate local and visiting indigenous artists. The experience will provide the Bendigo Youth Choir the opportunity to sing with this incredible women's choir and learn new music and create a greater awareness of indigenous culture and the history of the choir.

A wonderful opportunity to meld both age and culture. Fantastic project.
A fabulous bridge-building initiative, Truly a worthy cause.
An extremely worthwhile project!
Let the choirs make musical history together. The combined sound will be amazing as voices harmonise and complement each other. Great initiative!
A worthy very worthy project in bringing two wonderful and diverse choirs together.
Music connects people and communities - how inspirational to think that the whole Bendigo Community would learn from these inspirational members of the Central Australian Aboriginal Women's Choir
A very deserving project for an inspiring cultural opportunity.
I believe this an excellent project and deserves support
What a fantastic way to bridge the gap with educating the children as well as the community of Bendigo and regional areas in being able to share the indigenous culture of this choir as well as to help endorse our own local indigenous community.
That should have read "not only" representing our local community.
The Bendigo Youth Choir do a stirling job in not representing our local Community, but by representing Australia overseas, having travelled to the USA and shortly to France.
What a great idea in helping to "Bridge the Gap" a positive step forward. I idea of calling the event Bridges in Song. Music definitely helps in many positive ways. Yes, I agree it's a strong contribution to our community.
Anything that gets people out, mixing and contributing to our community gets my vote
What a wonderful opportunity for the choral community in Bendigo.
What a great opportunity for music lovers in Bendigo
The Bendigo Youth Choir has been trying for the last 5 years to have the opportunity to sing with the Central Australian Aboriginal Women's Choir. If we are successful in bringing them to Bendigo what a unique, wonderful and cultural opportunity this will be to experience such amazing sound and history. This project will provide the opportunity to work with schools and the public to share the indigenous culture of this choir as well as our own local indigenous community.
This is a wonderful opportunity for Bendigo to hear this innovative, exciting choir. Bendigo Youth Choir has learned that music is a universal language and unites peoples of all nations. Your vote will help us to achieve a dream we have had for 5 years. Pick my Project funding will enable us to do something we could not do with our own resources. Thank you for supporting us.
This is a very worthwhile initiative that promotes reconciliation through the universal language of music!
A wonderful initiative. I hope we can all get to hear this wonderful group.
