Escaping Your Comfort Zone is a body positive hiking organisation for women across Victoria. It is a size inclusive, judgement free community, with over 800 members, and hikes in over 40 locations across Victorian parks. We are opening these experiences up to women from culturally & linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds across Geelong.

We recognise that our hikes are not accessible via public transport, and many CALD, and refugee women do not have cars. We will purchase a mini-bus, so that we can pick up participants who want to join our hikes, who otherwise could not attend.

We are firm believers in "You cannot be what you cannot see". Women from CALD backgrounds are woefully under-represented in the Aussie outdoors, so how can these women see what is possible?

We'll provide:

Social inclusion, allowing these women to meet others to share experiences with.
The proven mental health benefits that come from the outdoors, and feeling part of a community
Access to new local parks, that they can return to with their families.

We'll promote understanding and empathy in our current members (predominately white women), towards women from diverse backgrounds. No longer a different culture, now a friend.
