We want to develop a new Smart Rural Hub based out of the Bendigo Tech School and La Trobe University Bendigo to bring STEM to the people of Bendigo with a focus on Smart Rural, utilizing modern technology to drive innovation and make Bendigo a Smart Rural City. Our grassroots centre for innovation, community engagement and learning will be centred around bringing smart rural ideas and new technology like 3D printing, drones, IoT and more to as many as possible in the greater Bendigo community.
Our Hub would be a place for the wider community to learn about and use cutting edge technology. We would run workshops to drive innovation, community engagement and education, with guest speakers and program coordinators drawn from academia, business and industry, both local to Bendigo and from all around the globe. Students will be able to learn about these new technologies, preparing them for careers in STEM. This technical literacy, skills and experience will drive innovation and help make Bendigo a Smart Rural City.
