Fair Feed provides meals to young people in socially inclusive ways, while increasing engagement with the wider community, friends and family and the young person’s worker.
Fair Feed has the ability to bring about positive change in young people’s lives through the simple, but powerful act of eating as part of the community in which they live. The young person contributes $3 to their food and receives a meal up to the value of $15.
After a successful Pilot Program in Wangaratta, NESAY is seeking to roll out the Program into the township of Benalla.

Homelessness is a community issue.
Young people experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of becoming homeless experience many barriers to integrating into their communities. Along with feeling part of the community, food provides us with the nutrients we need in order to survive. Having access to healthy and varied food assists in reducing health issues and general wellbeing. Accessing a café and attaining a meal encourages social connectedness and personal wellbeing. Eating out also helps people become open to new experiences and eat outside of their comfort zone while giving them something to look forward to.

This program would offer a unique opportunity for local youth to eat at the many cafes in Benalla, and mix with community
