Upgrading Beaufort’s skatepark is an much needed amazing project. The positive outcomes to the community of Beaufort is exponential. Putting Beaufort on the map as a destination for visitors. Providing a space for people of all ages and gender to experience a fun sport that is both rewarding physically and mentally. As a Mum with two little boys that are both interested in skating. We are all learning together, but we often travel out of town to practice at parks that are safer to use for our skill level. Making Beaufort skatepark suitable to all ability levels would be fantastic.

Upgrade to the existing park infrastructure is needed, it currently suits advanced skate/bmx ability and has very little options for children, youths or beginners. The current features tower above children and youths, intimidating and preventing them from enjoying the park. This leads to an under utilisation of the infrastructure. The park needs smaller features that are stepping stones to the existing larger elements. Without smaller features, the larger become dangerous for the inexperienced. Upgrading provides a place for locals, visitors, competitions and fun days. Enjoying a sport of which there is no other parks within 60km.
Skate parks benefit not just individuals but general communities.
Providing physical, mental and social benefits in an active unstructured
sport that provides an expressive, creative outlet. It can also be a
legitimate career path for some, especially with skating now an Olympic
sport in 2020. It can make areas safer with increased natural surveillance
due to patronage. Well-designed and constructed skate parks attract high
levels of use and lend host to varied sized events. Not only attracting local
users, but national and international visitors. This would assist in
bringing visitors into the Beaufort township, especially post Beaufort
highway bypass implementation.

How wonderful to think of the possibility that a skate park could be built for the younger generation of Beaufort.
Providing outdoor activities for our youth is vital and I fully support this. The public need to be positive about these skate parks not assume they are a negative area for people to gather . When looking at skate parks around the city of Melbourne it is encouraging to see all ages involved in a physical activity and engaging with one another
So needed get behind this please
Smythesdales additional bike track is a great model for something to support this extension
It would be great to see a footpath around the entire park for children to ride their bikes on, skateboarding and roller skating! Also a gate on the playground considering it faces straight on to the road. Even with perantal supervision it can be difficult to watch multiple children at once while also cooking on the bbq, which is on a different side to the gate!
This is a great idea, the existing park is small and caters to advanced riders. A better park for everyone will attract travelers to the town of Beaufort

A fantastic project for the community kids and skaters of Beaufort. If “you build it” to suit all skill levels more will come, it will encourage fun, fitness and skills outdoors for all ages and abilities. Great upgrade idea for regional town development.
