The Brighton Life Saving Club Bathing Box Classic is an ocean swim for the whole community,open to females & males in junior, senior, masters and physically & mentally challenged athletes
In 2018 the Club received around 500 entries & next year we are forecasting close to 700 entries across all categories including those with physical & mental disabilities.
The event is operated solely by volunteers from Brighton Life Saving Club.
We also plan to have more activities on the day to cater for the hundreds of supporters that attend.
With our forecast of 700 swimmers in 2019 plus the many hundreds of spectators it means that a voluntary organisation in the BLSC can operate a community based event that helps promote one that everyone can participate in a healthy, safe & all-inclusive environment. The BLSC junior members also benefit from their engagement with swimmers & their families.
The overall day is an extremely positive , effective & well spirited event operated solely by volunteers of BLSC
We are confident that with some funding , this event could become the biggest fund raiser for BLSC.

Open water swimming is a blast for all ages of people in a body of water known to baysisde residents as the bay. This event brings people and the best playground in Melbourne together. It's a must for all to promote community,health and activities.Let's get immersed together to provide a brilliant event.

I helped with this event last year...it was a great day and brought the whole community together, club, locals, swimmers from all over Melbourne. With the bathing boxes listed as a Victorian icon, the swim has the potential to become a major fundraiser for a range of local causes.

This swim attracts people from all over Melbourne and Australia. It brings the Brighton Life Saving Community together and promotes health and well being. It attracts tourists and highlights one of Melbourne's most popular beaches.

Enjoyable event that brings young and old together to our beautiful bayside beach. We need more events like this to bring the community together in fun, fitness and skill development. Let's see this event run again this summer!
