Basketball Engagement and Development Program - Phoenix College

Establishment of Aussie Hoops and School Holiday Programs based at Phoenix College in Delacombe with the view of bringing new participants into the sport. Aussie Hoops will be offered immediately after school on one night per week introducing 6 to 11 year olds to the sport, while the School Holiday Programs will be 3 day programs from 9am to 2.30pm run during one week each term break. It is our aim to establish a new Club based in this area of Ballarat.

The community to the south and west of Phoenix College is under-represented in Basketball participation numbers in all programs and competitions currently run by Basketball Ballarat. The establishment of programs with ready local access for participants will be of great benefit to this community. It will provide them with a healthy sports outlet, teach them a game skill, and may lead to regular competition based at the College or linked with those run by Basketball Ballarat.
