Balla Balla Community Centre Outdoor Redevelopment Plan through Community Consultation.

The Balla Balla Community Centre (within the City of Casey Complex) in Cranbourne is home to a wide variety of cultural, arts and hobby groups in addition to many hirers who utilise the Centre for one-off events. The outdoor space however is often unsuitable for use due to lack of protection from the elements and the random and disconnected placement of features. Following an audit of existing conditions and with assistance from CPTED, this project aims to facilitate a rich community engagement process to develop a brief including 3D model and drawings for a vibrant, inclusive and well activated space.

Our community would greatly benefit from the redevelopment and upgrade of the existing outdoor space behind Balla Balla Community Centre in Cranbourne.
Currently coexisting with the Wall of Global Friendship, the space is urgently in need of shelter, shade, seating and a greater connection and flow to/from the Balla Balla building.
A reimagining of the Wall of Global Friendships, new performance space/sound shell, perimeter seating, weather protection plus bbq facilities would benefit the local community and all current users including cultural groups, performance/visual arts groups, church groups, council holiday programs and all associated special events, festivals, concerts, displays and celebrations.
