Avondale Primary School is at the centre of a community which is attracting young families. The school recognises there are limited family friendly play spaces in the area and has expressed a commitment to its local community providing access for families to use their playground in out of school hours and weekends. The whole community is invited to play, exercise and explore in a hub providing both sheltered and outdoor play areas. Additional play equipment, a BBQ and seating to talk and engage with friends and family would support this community centred space.
Health and fitness is at the forefront in the minds of families, local and state government. It is essential that we invest in and improve access to play and recreation facilities that encourage leisure participation across the whole community. Avondale Primary is ideally located in this suburb for exactly this reason - it provides the space to encourage whole families to venture into the open and use the adventure playground and oval spending time together away from screens and out in the fresh air. The school is an easy walk from many houses and also to the aged care centre.

We are so lucky to have a school that does NOT lock it's gates out of school hours and allows the community to engage and make use of its facilities. I'm really proud of this institution and its philosophy towards our neighborhood.

The school and community can benefit greatly with an upgrade on the outdoor area. In the near future our suburb will be home to many more children and adults and the facilities at the school site would be well utilised.

Avondale Primary has developed such a rich culture of learning and community under the guidance of the principal , Paul Mulroyan and his leadership team.
As a grandparent, I've seen this for myself, and it is for this reason that I would thoroughly support such a project, as it doesn't only support the school, but also the wider community.

My children are third generation Avondale Primary school attendees.
This school is the heart of the local community. Avondale Heights lacks generous play spaces for children, so a lot of residents rely on the generosity of this school to open their gates to locals and allow them to utilize their playground and oval.
The current playground and oval are tiredly old and is in much need of an upgrade, if it has any hope in continuing to support the local community.

I have lived in Avondale heights for 36 years and attended Avondale primary in the 1980’s and unfortunately have not seen many improvements to the site over the years. This upgrade is really necessary for the community and overdue.
