The Sunbury Residents Association and the Sunbury Sub-Branch of the Returned and Services League propose the creation of an Avenue of Honour linking Sunbury’s Memorial Hall to the Village Green. The Village Green was created as a public space through the closure of Stawell Street in the 1980s, it hosts numerous community activities including SunFest and the Remembrance Day and ANZAC day services. The Village Green is bounded by Memorial Hall (the Sunbury Sub-Branch of the RSL) and is an important civic and community place in Sunbury.
Sunbury has a rich military history and a legacy of community service. The Sunbury Village Green is an important civic and community location that would be enhanced by the erection of 12 memorial plaques that celebrate and remember the contributions from service men and women in Sunbury in a prominent and proud location.

This gets my vote. Time to honor the sacrifice.
The village green land belongs to the Churches and is used by the community and maintained by the council. There is a sign near the fountain that explains it all.
Respect for all those from this area who have served their country in wartime and in other conflicts wnere our people have served
Respect for those that have given the ultimate sacrifice gets my vote. Good luck.

What a fantastic way to honour those who served and a great upgrade for the Village Green
A great way to honour those who have served
It’s a great idea to put an Avenue of Honour at the Village Green as it links to the Sunbury War Memorial and Memorial Hall. monumentaustralia.org.au/themes/conflict/multiple/display/33618-sunbury-war-memorial/
