Our project is simple and straightforward. We want to purchase a modern cricket pitch roller, like many cricket clubs and councils currently possess, to replace our current heavy manual one that is required to be pulled and pushed by a volunteer. The roller would save a volunteer about 6 hours each weekend, result in a better quality roll (pitch) leading to increased player satisfaction, be safer as it will avoid the human pushing and pulling currently required often from an older individual and avoid the risks of skin cancer from being currently being exposed to the sun.

The local community cricket players (ours and the opposition) will be able to reap the benefits of this roller for decades to come. As mentioned the benefits will be large for players and volunteers in regards to savings in time and effort (at least 6 hours a week), reduce OHS issues as well as well as increasing the playing satisfaction that comes from playing on an improved pitch.

A must for a properly maintained cricket pitch and by eliminating risk of physical injury to those required to regularly roll the cricket pitch.

Aging volunteers need help and one of the things we should be trying to save the elderly is time as they enjoy their twilight years.

A new roller would go a long way towards helping this club find volunteers who struggle physically, so that the young can stay active! Cricket wicket curators have to work in extreme heat in the elements - lets help them.
