To provide free or low-cost services to assist existing or start-up small businesses to manage their business aspirations by providing assistance on core business requirements including; registrations, record-keeping, tax obligations and social media implementation, and facilitating access to a range of small business experts.
Running regular workshops in rural towns across the Mallee region to increase business knowledge, help businesses grow and prosper, and in turn build community growth and resilience.
Engaging with small business owners for 1:1 assistance, tailoring information and training to individual requirements, and maximising access to digital engagement and employment opportunities.
The survivability of small businesses in rural communities underpins the viability of towns and communities. Small businesses in the Mallee region historically have less access to expertise supporting their business development and ambitions:
- New enterprises – starting on the right foot.
- Existing enterprises – improving business practices to ensure survivability in good and tough times.
This project gives small business owners and start-ups opportunities to develop businesses skills, confidence to promote and grow, enhances social media presence and links to the digital economy.
Through increased business skills and confidence, the project helps build resilient, sustainable rural communities.

Small business struggles to remain operational in the shadow of big business. We need small business so support is vital.
I've just registered and placed my 3 votes, including this project. Best of luck!
Hi Jennamar - thanks for voting for us and other local projects :) Fingers crossed!
Hi, this is a great project!! What sort of workshops are you planning to hold?
Hi Jim, thank you! We will tailor the workshops to suit small business across NW Victoria where the program will operate. We will run workshops around business management, financial management, tax essentials, marketing and social media for business. We have found in the past that Instagram and Facebook workshops are in demand due to how often these platforms change. The great thing about this funding is that the program will be able to be adapted to suit demand at any time, and we will be looking for input from local businesses as to what training they want in the different towns in our region.
This is a great service, I used them last year when starting up my business and received lots of useful information.
Thanks Lanky, we really appreciate your comment.
Without the support and encouragement from The staff at SRCS my business or network would have not grown as it has. The services and support they have supplied are a great resource to small businesses in our regional areas.
Hi Geekgirl, thanks so much for your comments! That is one of the great things about small business programs, the opportunity for small business owners to get together and create new networks to support each other's businesses.
I have used the services and programs provides by Help 4 small businesses and their support has been essential to improve my skills and support few other businesses.
Thanks so much Cristiane for your kind words! This program will be similar to Help 4 Small Business with lots of workshops and opportunities for small businesses to get together and support each other.
