Arts West: Building a stronger Artistic community in the West

Arts West is a unique alliance of arts organisations who reflect the exciting, vibrant and ever-expanding arts and culture thriving in Melbourne’s west. Together we provide cultural services to over 200,000 people annually.

Arts West will work with local Artists and councils in the West to develop and present a series of professional development and networking opportunities across 2019.

If successful in this application, Arts West will meet with local artists in late 2018 to determine a series of professional development opportunities that are required for local artists to continues to build a sustainable artistic practice.

These opportunities may include Arts and the Law, Mental Health First Aid and wellbeing and Marketing workshops to name a few.

With an anticipated 32% population growth across the region before 2023, Melbourne’s west is one of Australia’s fastest growing areas with over 130 cultural groups and 150 languages represented.

We believe arts and culture play a significant role in framing the next generation of community engagement, health, wellbeing and cohesion and aim to build a stronger community through deep, emotional and cultural connections.

While focused on supporting Artists in the West, these opportunities are open to all Victorian Artists.
