Apex Reserve – Community Sports Facility Upgrade

Apex Reserve is sports precinct with netball courts, basketball stadium and open fields currently utilised as soccer pitches. The fields are used by junior soccer, club soccer, sports training, schools and special interest groups. The current grass surface is uneven and the drainage so ineffective that it floods after significant rainfall rendering the surfaces dangerous and at times unplayable. The aim of this project is to excavate the field area to create state of the art playing surfaces and redesign the field area for maximum capacity for a range of sporting and recreation activities.

The project will make a recreational area that is safe for users and an environment that will support engagement in recreational activities. It will invigorate participation in sport and recreational activities which has the capacity to improve the health and well-being of people in Cobram and the surrounding area. The precinct will be a premier sporting and recreational area capable of hosting major events that attract players and teams from across the country, boosting our local economy. The precinct will not only deliver premier sporting facilities for the region, but also satisfy the demand for open-space for passive leisure activities.
