In order to create wheelchair access to the hall, which is used for scouting and other community groups, such as local dance schools, it is proposed to create a ramp at the front of the hall as the new Main entrance. Removing the existing non-security fence, provides better safety and lighting including a safer access from the street by removing the open stormwater drains. In addition, by providing a metal shed to house and the trailers used by the scout group, it is hoped that they will not be stolen from the open yard as happened in 2016.

Currently there is no wheelchair access to the hall, which means that many of the local users from the community cannot attend events such as Tai Chi, Line Dancing, Exercise and Dance Classes, along with the usual scouting groups that meet four times a week. In addition, with no defined footpath or crossings across the open drains, it is a safety risk for parents and others dropping-off / attending events. Concealed drainage, new fencing, better lighting, along with the new wheelchair accessible entrance, will mean that the community have a much better resource, which will be more accessible.

A well used community facility, but it needs an upgrade to continue to be safe and accessible.

This is a critical community asset, particularly as there are ewer and fewer local buildings available to the public, and an increasing population.

Scouting is a great community asset and helping to make this hall more presentable will help attract and retain youth members. Helping young people grow in confidence and giving them skills that they will take into their adulthood.

This is a valuable community asset. Scouts generously share this space so that many local community activities can also happen here. Everything from young children's dance classes to old ladies exercise - we can't do without it. An upgrade would benefit many members of the community.

The Scout Hall is used by many groups in the community and is a true community hall. It needs the works to make it safer and more accessible to all.

An excellent project that will benefit the wider community by providing universal access to all users.

Security upgrades including lighting, fencing and facilities to lock up valuable equipment, whilst completing storm water works and enabling access to a larger percentage of the community would be a valuable and worthy investment in the local community.

Long overdue to get rid of the open storm water drain. Making the hall accessible to those with disabilities is a fantastic idea making the hall an asset to the community.

This project demonstrates scouts are catering for the wider community, not just their members.
