Since the 2012 formation of the “Friends of Agnes Falls”, their voluntary work has helped to maintain and upgrade the picnic ground.
Members regularly promote this beautiful natural attraction - locally, Victoria-wide, and interstate - through the distribution of thousands of promotional postcards, via radio, local newpapers, and social media.
Consequently the visitation to the Agnes Falls Scenic Reserve has increased enormously, from the original estimate of around 5000 per year to the latest Parks Victoria official pedestrian count of 34,100 during 2017.
As many visitors are less able, requiring assistance, walkers or wheelchairs, better access is vital, for safety.
Following the construction of upgraded visitor amenities in 2014, and greater publicity, thousands of visitors now visit the Agnes Falls Scenic Reserve annually. Many are in the older age group - some needing walking sticks, walkers or wheelchairs - or family groups with young children - some in pushers - who need extra assistance to access the picnic grounds and the Agnes Falls viewing platforms.
The tracks are a little steep, and there are several steps.
Re-grading the pathways, removing some of the steps, and adding extra seating, would allow easier access for all visitors, whatever their age or ability.

Love Agnes Falls and want people to be able to enjoy it, improved access will be a great boon to the area, not only at Agnes but Toora which has some great little businesses to cater to those who visit the area
The following comment was put up on the "Friends of Agnes Falls" facebook page :
"Great initiative as there are many people that just cannot access and enjoy many of south gippsland’s beautiful spots that others take for granted .. due to lack of hand rails, steep steps , rough narrow tracks and lack of seating along walks . good luck! 👍"
With over 34,000 visitors officially counted during 2017 many visitors have enjoyed walking through the picnic grounds but have sometimes found the steps a challenge, especially those needing assistance - wheelchairs, walking sticks, wheelie walkers families with pushers. Once the proposed cantilevered viewing platform is constructed - hopefully during 2019 - even more visitors will come to experience waking out on this exhilerating platform for a view of the falls, with many making a day trip from further afield and bringing along a picnic to enjoy. Easier access to the grounds is essential for safety, and for better enjoyment of this fabulous natural attraction in South Gippsland.
