A series of community festivals for the residents of Geelong's eastern suburbs that are inclusive, accessible and focused on participation and culture. The festivals aim to celebrate the diverse and distinctive identities of Geelong's east with festivals that are participatory (with singing, music, film, etc.) for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. The eastern suburbs contain 33% of Geelong's most disadvantaged communities and there is little cultural or social activity. Our festivals will showcase the talent in the community with local bands, artists, community groups, exhibitions, podcasting, activities and be accessible for people with a disability.

The festivals aim to bring the diverse communities of eastern Geelong together at Eastern Hub Community Centre with live music, art making, food and activities. The eastern suburbs includes areas identified as socially and economically disadvantaged and the aim is to engage the community at all levels of the festival, from planning to delivery to build skills. Local musicians, artists and crafters will be engaged along with Wadawurrung to provide a smoking ceremony. We will encourage local organisations to participate in the festival with the aim of building a connected and welcoming community for all people.

This would be a buzz for Eastern Geelong. What a wonderful way of bringing people from this richly diverse community together.
