A week-long festival of workshops, demonstrations & events culminating in a weekend market featuring locally designed/handmade wares, pre-loved, up-cycled and eco-friendly goods from local makers and growers and eco-friendly suppliers.
Sustainable living sessions including household and bike repair cafés, urban food growing, clothes and produce swap, & environmentally friendly housekeeping, as well as a range of upcycling and repurposing workshops, demonstrations and displays – everything from rag rugs to upcycled worm farms - plus inspiring presenters on issues of sustainability. The festival is open to everyone – with all sessions and events available free of charge to the community.
As awareness about issues such as household waste, climate change and environmental pollution has increased, community interest in practical solutions and alternatives has grown rapidly.
Albion Sustainable Communities Festival is an opportunity for people to come together and share their ideas, skills and knowledge about how to reduce their impact on the environment to enhance the sustainability and livability of our communities.
As a community-based event, the festival is also an opportunity for the community to connect with local groups and organisations in the West who are working in clever and resourceful ways to create a healthier, more resilient community.
