For young people this is so important. They think they’re dumb and then they shutdown. Some never know their full potential because their disability is never diagnosed or not recognised. Great cause. Good luck. 👍🏼

This funding will be used to develop a mentoring, support and coaching program for young people with Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia. The program is aimed at mentoring and coaching young people who are transitioning from high school and into university, attending training or into the workplace.
The aim of the program is to help people develop strategies for managing their Dyslexia within the broader community. It provides a space to develop lasting friendships as a way of strengthening young people's lifelong social networks.
Many people with Dyslexia describe being told they are dumb or lazy by teachers and parents. These negative experiences have a lasting effect and can put Dyslexics off from trying to achieve in higher education. This limits potential.
The right attitude matters. This program focuses on building people's self-esteem, resilience, dealing with disappointment, building confidence and strategies for working with others for better outcomes. This program helps young Dyslexics look for ways to improve personal and professional success.

Thank you for your vote. Fingers crossed.
My very close friend has dyslexia and I really appreciate the opportunity to support her as she has supported me over the years.. Great opportunity to assist young people to transition through education but to also feel more confident in themselves when they enter the workforce. This is a very worthwhile cause.
Thank you so much for your vote. Not long now. What Dear Dyslexic for more updates in relation to this program.
This will help give so many struggling youngsters an opportunity to expand their learning skills, and help them to the next step on the learn cycle.
That is so right.
It also opens up the opportunity for TAFE, University and Employers to have access to people with great and varied skills and ways of thinking that may vary from what they currently have in the mix. If people with Dyslexia can go through the education system it will enrich all of society.
Thanks, Dave50. Helping young people is a passion of Dear Dyslexic.
Such a valuable service. Wish you all the best.
Thank you.
This is the first time being on this site. I voted and I hope we succeed in this event.
Thank you so much. It will be wonderful if we get these funds to do this amazing work.
Thank you for your vote. Please remember to ask your friends and family who live in Vic to vote for this project. Dear Dyslexic is passionately wanting to bring this program to Victoria and feels this funding is the first step to being able to do start the ball rolling on a number of wonderful programs. Thank you, everyone, for your ongoing support and encouragement. Karen Burgess
Yes the 17th has come around quickly it is this Monday.
Friends and family come and vote now.
Love this idea! As a preservice teacher I feel we are not taught any strategies with helping students with dyslexia, therefore teachers often ignore the issue, by having this program available for young adults transitioning to university they can regain self confidence during any already anxious time, feeling prepared for university!
Thank you for your vote Vic25. That feedback is really valuable. We believe in this program and are thrilled to bring such an innovative supportive program to Australia.
Thank you for your feedback and support Vic25. We really think this program will benefit so many young people with dyslexia. We want them to feel empowered to achieve whatever they want to.
This project looks awesome. My son with dyslexia and dysgraphia is 13 andI would love him to have support after high school with finding a job around his skills. At the moment he loves music and anything active so that is what we are focused on between speech therapy and maths tutoring
Wonderful. Stay connected with Dear Dyslexic because this organising is hoping to bring some amazing programs to Australia to continue to support people with Dyslexia. Thank you for your vote.
As an adult with dyslexia and dysgraphia, I can only say keep focusing on building on your son's strengths, confidence and resilience!!
The Dear Dyslexic Foundation wants to ensure that when he enters the workplace he is well supported and well understood. We have a long way to go so it's great that you are building on his strengths now. Thanks for your support its greatly appreciated. Shae Wissell, CEO Dear Dyslexic Foundation
Yes we want every person with Dylexia to have the chance to reach their full potential.
Everyone yes. How wonderful would Australia be then if we can offer programs of support and encouragement for Dyslexic Adults?
Yes at the Dear Dyslexic Foundation our vision is to empower those 16 and over to reach their full potential, so they can achieve whatever they want to achieve. Thanks for your support as always Chrissy. Shae
Great Initiative, we need more support projects like this one, so thumbs up to this!
Thanks so much, Moko. I agree to that, thumbs up indeed. Both of them too, so we don't have to confuse our left and our right - (Dyslexic Humour :) )
Thanks so much, Moko for your ongoing support, it's very much appreciated.
Shae, CEO Dear Dyslexic Foundation
This project looks amazing. I'm dyslexic myself and I wish there was something like this when I was in my teens and early 20s.
I know right - we seem to forget Dyslexic children turn into Dyslexic adults. It would be great to continue to support Dyslexic people into adulthood.
Yes being diagnosed later in life can be really challenging. We want to ensure all young people have all the opportunities possible to make sure they achieve and reach their full potential. Thanks for your support Lois. Shae CEO Dear Dyslexic Foundation
People with dyslexia are often innovative out of the box thinkers. Our society needs more people like these to help solve big problems.
Hey Suzie T. Society does need more out of the box thinkers. I agree. Most Dyslexics have a great sense of humour too. I really hope to have an opportunity to encourage a whole new Dyslexic generation.
Yes, we often are. Thanks so much for your support Suzie, much appreciated. Shae CEO Dear Dyslexic Foundation
YES!!! Totally worthy project. Assisting Dyslexics to transition is of key importance. 40% of lead buisness people, game changers and world inovators are Dyslexic. Nurture their skills and lets grow them. This project has my total support!!!
Thanks, Savvy for voting. It will be wonderful to be able to support adults with Dyslexia and help business understand the importance of working with this diverse group of thinkers.
Fantastic work and very much needed!!

Great idea. As a primary teacher, I'm only beginning now to fully appreciate the complexity of dyslexia and the hurdles a dyslexic child faces. I can't imagine the difficulties faced by older dyslexics. A program that supports and mentors these people is a worthy cause.
