This park will be more useful to its community when the highway fence is extended along its full length, and a fence will make it a safer and more relaxing resting place for travellers with children.

When fenced, the park will be a safe haven for everyone to use, keeping children and little fluffy white dogs off the very busy highway. With basic pathways and more seating, the very well used park will provide access to all, visitors included. This would also allow for functions, such as anzac ceremonies and community activities, markets, health days and such to be held in an open location. For example, our first community health day will be training a large group of people of all ages and abilities in CPR, with fun activities available relating to a healthy heart.
By providing a safer park, people will be able to use it more often. There will be a greater amount of access for walking, sitting and general passive recreation. The village does not really have a community hub as yet. Fencing and wider pathways will help alleviate this situation, by providing accessible space to a much wider group of locals and visitors, in both an ad hoc manner, and during arranged events. All the community will be able to access the park, especially when special events will take place.

This is a busy tourist town where many people stop off and exercise their dogs and children. The service road beside the highway is partly fenced but the rest, near the very popular toilets, the train on display and a covered area is not. Many school buses on their way to camps pull up in this area. The completion of this fence would provide protection from the busy highway and make it attractive for local activities.
