The children and families of Beechworth would love to see an all access playground created in an unused area between the netball courts and the oval at the Baarmutha Park Recreation Reserve. The playground will have equipment that is fun and inspires active play for young people of all ages. For improved safety, the playground will include bollards as well as a rubber surface for improved accessibility and is low maintenance. To encourage healthy water drinking, the playground will feature a water bubbler. The playground will be open at all times for community use.
The playground will encourage active play and increase community connection and participation. By providing a visible, central place for children to play while their parents train and play sport, the playground will give children a fun opportunity to be more active in their day. It will also be a draw-card for families to attend and stay longer at games, improving participation in netball, football, hockey, golf and cricket. It will also benefit the tennis club that will soon co-locate to the area. Attending sporting events is a great way for our community to come together and build connection.

There is a huge need for this at the football and netball grounds. The clubs would better supported if the whole family can happily attend matches. Its also a great way to connect the broader community with our local sporting clubs and build a designated communal recreational area. A playground is just what is needed for people to feel their kids are contained and safe. The baarmutha Park Precinct is set to grow in usage with the development of the tennis courts in the Coming years, further enhancing the need for a space that the whole family can enjoy. A much needed asset for our community .....please support

This is a really important project. The Footy/Netball/Cricket/Golf and soon to be Tennis clubs make for a very community-centred precinct and to have a fabulous playground would greatly enhance this. Good luck!
