The Oakleigh District Football & Netball Club serves a huge section of community within the City of Monash and beyond, for 52 weeks of the year. It has done so since 1949. The Club has a number of Men's football teams, an under-age Youth football team, a Women's football team, two Netball teams, and three Cricket teams. - The Club has recently seen huge growth in numbers, with more diverse engagement happening, and it desperately needs to upgrade the manually-operated Information/data provision facility. This funding will not only provide the much needed match-day upgrade, but it will also allow the Club to more closely involve our local community.
A new and modern Electronic Information Centre/Scoreboard for community use.
A external and visible information/entertainment facility for total community use.

The Electronic Information Centre/Scoreboard project will finally provide a visible and modern, 52 week, year-round information/entertainment facility, that will electronically display information, data, news, results, and entertainment. It will replace the existing and severely limited, and out-dated, early 1980's manual contraption. The new electronic facility will be used by ALL community users of the open-space, and it will validate the on-going year-round expansion of involvements, by both the club, and the local community. The new electronic information centre/scoreboard will motivate and facilitate these wide-ranging engagements and activities, by offering a commensurate facility, which is now expected of a progressive community.
As the major tenant body, the club takes proactive responsibility for driving ongoing improvements for all persons that attend. The new facility will:
• be capable of providing additional community involvement and benefits (e.g. free ‘Summer Park Cinema’).
• provide a visible facility to all attending the open space amenity.
• provide a visible facility for all ( year-round ) seasonal users.
• provide a facility for the total dissemination of information.
The new and modern Electronic Information Centre/Scoreboard will motivate and facilitate all community members, by supporting the expansion of community-based involvement, for all.

I really like the idea that this can be used for other purposes than just a scoreboard. Pop-up cinema for example.
