A Heartland for Haddon

We want to develop a presently unused area into a vibrant aesthetically pleasing public space for our community. Our town does not have a focal point, a central ‘heart’ to bring our community together. The area is devoid of facilities providing a stimulating play area for children, or a central meeting place to congregate. Our plan includes a “rotunda” for seating and cooking facilities, a nature play area to enhance and beautify the space and the establishment of a community garden to stimulate community participation and interest in the local environment. These additions to the streetscape are much-needed enhancements.

The project would improve and beautify the precinct in front of the learning hub that is devoid of attractive, inviting areas for our community, families or visitors to enjoy. Engagement activities with residents, services, education providers, sporting and community groups have highlighted the need for beautification works and recreational areas in the town. The project will benefit our community by developing a town center, a desirable place to bring people together with a welcoming all-inclusive recreational facility. It will establish a focal point, involve community members in its plan and growth and instill a sense of community pride and ownership.
