A festival acknowledging the traditional owners of the land. Strengthening community while engaging locals through food, art, music, dance, language, environmental knowlege, ceremonies and culture. Supporting and facilitating participation from our local Aboriginal community gathering them together and nourishing their connection to the land and each other. We wish to create a festival to publicly demonstrate our people's history, the positive and negative while educating the wider community and promoting equality for the future. We have so much to be proud of, to share and learn from each other. By working together we can heal, moving forward for future generations.

A 12 month project of community development and upskilling our local people

Strengthening community
Making and sharing food
Connecting through all platforms of art
Learning and celebrating with music
Showcasing dance and corroboree
Teaching and exchanging language
Sharing environmental knowledge
Demonstrating ceremonies
Promoting respect, health and culture.

Through workshops with elders and young people, the project would see support for the GVs Aboriginal community to perform at their own festival.
Every year as the celebration grows so do the skills and knowledge of local people.
With much to proud of we are putting Aboriginal people in the spotlight!
