The Condell Growers and Sharers are a small group of residents who care about building a place where everyone can come to garden and share. Our totally unfenced community garden in Fitzroy does just that, and recently we were given more space for the garden to expand. Now we need the funds to fit out the empty space with key infrastructure and shared growing spaces for the community to enjoy. Here we hope people will join us in growing food, attending workshops, throwing community morning teas and even just sitting together for a cuppa!

Our garden sits next to the Fitzroy Town Hall and is surrounded by people living in high-density apartments. We want our space to provide not only somewhere to grow food, but to act as a green respite in an otherwise very built-up area. To do this, we need funds for the essentials like trees and benches, but also so that we can run events which bring potential new gardeners into the space: educational workshops and a street party - and you’re invited! Through Pick My Project we know we can create something really special for the diverse residents of Fitzroy.

I work at a local business and would love to see this space expanded; a real gem. The ladies that run this garden are welcoming, driven and ambitious contributors to the local community. Supporting this one is a must!
